Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 21.11.2025

At PingPacketTest.com, we prioritize the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by PingPacketTest.com and how we use it.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number. You can use this tool anonymously. However, to make the tool functional, we collect specific technical data:

A. Network Test Data

When you run a test, our servers process technical metrics including:

  • Ping (Latency)
  • Jitter
  • Packet Loss
  • IP Address (Automatically processed by server logs for security and geolocation features).
  • Approximate Location (Used solely to draw the "Server Map" line and select the nearest test server).

B. Local Storage & UUID

We do not use proprietary cookies to track your identity. Instead, we use Local Storage within your browser.

  • How it works: When you visit the site, we generate a random UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) and save it to your browser's Local Storage.
  • Why we do this: This UUID allows the website to "remember" your previous tests so we can display them in your "Recent History" log. This data stays in your browser and is linked to your anonymous ID in our database.

2. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to analyze traffic, serve advertisements, and support the website. These services may use their own cookies.

A. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics collects information such as device type, browser type, time spent on the site, and pages visited. This data is aggregated and anonymized. We use it to improve the user interface and server performance.

B. Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements.

  • Google uses cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to PingPacketTest.com and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt-out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

C. Amazon Affiliate Program

PingPacketTest.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

  • If you click on a product link (e.g., for an Ethernet cable or Router) and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
  • Amazon uses cookies to track the origin of the sale to assign the commission.

3. Data Retention & Your Rights

Test History

Your test results are stored in our database and linked to your anonymous UUID.

  • User Control: You have full control over this data. You can delete specific test results or click the "Delete All" button in the History section.
  • Clearing Data: If you clear your browser's cache/Local Storage, you will lose access to your history, and a new UUID will be generated the next time you visit.

Sharing Results

If you choose to use the "Share" feature, a unique, public URL is generated for that specific test result. This URL allows anyone with the link to view that specific graph and data set. You should only share this link with trusted parties (like your ISP or IT support).

4. Log Files

Like many other websites, PingPacketTest.com makes use of log files. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and number of clicks. This is standard procedure for hosting companies and a part of hosting services' analytics.

5. GDPR Data Protection Rights

We would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

  • The right to access – You have the right to request copies of your personal data.
  • The right to rectification – You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate.
  • The right to erasure – You have the right to request that we erase your personal data. (This can be done instantly by using the "Delete All" button on the website).

6. Consent

By using our website, you hereby consent to our Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.
