T-Mobile USA, Inc.: Ping, Jitter and Packet Loss
Results of 512 tests run on this site from T-Mobile USA, Inc. connections (AS21928). Use them as a reference for your own test, not as a verdict on the provider.
How to read these numbers
These are tests run on this site, not a rating of the provider. Most people run a packet loss test because something is already wrong, so these figures are worse than what a typical customer sees.
- Ping is shown per measurement server only; one figure across four continents would mostly show distance.
- Medians and 90th percentiles, no averages, so one broken line cannot move the page.
- A provider appears only with at least 500 tests in the last 365 days. Only finished tests of at least 10 seconds count.
- No IP address is stored. Provider and ASN come from a lookup at the time of the test; see the privacy policy.
All 512 tests
"Above 1 % loss" is the figure to read. "Any packet loss" counts a test even if a single packet out of thousands was lost, so it rises with test length.
Ping by measurement server
Ping depends on distance, so it is shown per server. A wide gap between the median and the 90th percentile means a line that is fine most of the time and bad some of the time.
| Measured against | Tests | Median ping | 90th pct ping | Median jitter | Tests that saw loss |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| US West (San Jose) | 292 | 49 ms | 146 ms | 13 ms | 46.58 % |
| US East (New York) | 212 | 58 ms | 113 ms | 13 ms | 60.38 % |
Servers with fewer than 50 tests for this provider are left out.

Countries with fewer than 25 tests are combined. No quality figures by country and no cities: those groups would be too small.
Test your own T-Mobile USA, Inc. connection
Run the packet loss test for a few minutes, not seconds; loss comes in bursts. If your result is clearly worse than the figures above, save it and send the PDF report to T-Mobile USA, Inc.. The bufferbloat test shows whether the line breaks down when someone else in the house starts a download.
A test measures the whole path: your Wi-Fi, your router, the provider's network and the route to our server. Test once on a cable before you contact your provider.
